FOR HUMBUCKER AND SINGLE COIL LOADED TELECASTERS®

This wiring harness is a universal model made to be a perfect set for your humbucker-loaded Telecaster, with an added fourth mode for two single coils for ultimate versatility. Select the mode from the Obsidian Smart switch, and you are set. This harness is the perfect match for you if you have Telecaster loaded with the below pickups:

• Mode 1. HH Tele (Humbucker + Humbucker)
• Mode 2. HS Telecaster (Humbucker Neck + Single Coil Bridge)
• Mode 3. SH Telecaster (Humbucker Bridge + Single Coil Neck)
• Mode 4. SS Tele (Two Single coils / traditional Tele mode)

Why have different modes?

Humbuckers and single coils have different characteristics that require different things from a wiring harness to really let out their best qualities. The Obsidian® Universal for Tele harness allows you to easily set up your harness to automatically optimize the controls for each switch position, and thus, each of your pickups. 500k Controls for your humbuckers - Clearer, fuller humbucker output. More resistance through your tone and volume controls means less treble escapes. 250k Controls for your single coils - Balanced single coil spank. The harsh highs of a raw single coil are sent to ground, leaving a harmonically rich but balanced single coil sound. The Four Modes Explained

• MODE 1: HH Telecaster (Two Humbuckers) Turn the dial to 'HH' for your Telecaster loaded with double humbuckers. You will get an optimized set of tone and volume controls with 500k pots, and a 0.022uf capacitor, for full clear output in all three switch positions. Master Volume & Tone controls: (500k for full clear output)
• MODE 2: HS Telecaster (Humbucker Neck + Single Coil Bridge Pickup) Turn the dial to 'HS' for your Telecaster loaded with a humbucker in the neck position, and a single coil in the bridge position. You will get an optimized set of tone and volume controls with 500k pots for the humbucker for full clear output, and 250k pots for the single coil position to help tame the excess highs. Switch Positions 1: Bridge Pickup (250k balances single coil highs) 2: Bridge + Neck Pickup (250k optimized for humbucker & single coil mix) 3: Neck Pickup (500k for full clear output)
• MODE 3: SH Telecaster (Humbucker Bridge + Single Coil Neck Pickup) Turn the dial to 'SH' for your Telecaster loaded with a humbucker in the bridge position, and a single coil in the neck position. You will get an optimized set of tone and volume controls with 500k pots for the humbucker for full clear output, and 250k pots for the single coil position to help tame the excess highs. Switch Positions 1: Bridge Pickup (500k for full clear output) 2: Bridge + Neck Pickup (250k optimized for humbucker & single coil mix) 3: Neck Pickup (250k balances single coil highs)
• MODE 4: SS Telecaster ( Two Single Coils) Also perfect for Single coil-sized humbuckers Call this bonus mode, just in case you ever want to convert your Tele back to a traditional SS, or two single coil Telecaster. This mode will give you a set of standard 250k controls with a 0.022uf capacitor for balanced tone and volume controls. This is also perfect for using single coil-sized humbuckers, which are often designed to work best with 250k pots. Master Volume & Tone controls: (250k for full clear output)

CRYSTAL CLEAR TONE

To make your tone crystal clear at lower volumes we also include an Obsidian® Custom Spec Treble Bleed Mod. This prevents tone 'muddiness' at low volumes by allowing high frequencies to pass along a separate path to your amp, rather than being stopped short by the increasing resistance at the volume control.

DUAL SC (COIL SPLIT)

Turn your humbuckers into single coils, and back again. To add true versatility to your guitar we build in Obsidian® Dual SC, allowing you to split each of your humbuckers to singlecoils for lower output, more dynamic tones.

Obsidian® Dual SC is built in to your volume controls using push/pull pots, so no extra mods are required to your guitar.
